Welcome to what’s probably Cologne’s most epic pub competition: Schnick Schnack Schluck – the official World Cup in classic rock, paper, scissors mode – held in the heart of the world.
And this isn’t just a casual game. Every single event is a World Cup. Each night crowns a new champion – and the winner of a World Cup takes home 10 crates of Kölsch plus a permanent place in the history of this unique format.
Right in the middle of the action: Michael, the founder of The Kölsch Crew – 2019 Vice World Champion, 2023 World Champion, and known on the wrestling mat by his fearsome stage name: Big Mike.
Schnick Schnack Schluck isn’t a game. It’s tactics. Psychology. Nerves of steel. And of course, a proper serving of Kölsch.
World Cup mode – how a legend is made
Each edition of Schnick Schnack Schluck is its own World Cup. 64 players face off in a knockout format – CLASSIC mode: rock, paper, scissors.
Play continues up to the final in best-of-5, with the final in best-of-7. Time-outs, mental coaches, and tactical stalling are all part of the ritual. Players are called to the battle mat – and that’s where everything is decided in seconds.
The World Cup winner takes home 10 crates of Gaffel Kölsch. Second place gets a 5-liter party keg. But even more important is the entry in the annals of World Cup history.
The big annual final – the road to World Champion
At the end of the year comes the big final tournament. This is where the year’s World Cup winners and runners-up face each other – with seeded starting spots (round of 16 or round of 32). But: Anyone can take part.
This final tournament decides the title: World Champion of the Year. Only those with nerves of steel, tactical finesse, and perfect timing get to claim it.
No fighting name, no fight
Every player needs an official fighting name. Because on the battle mat, your ID doesn’t matter – your legend does. Whether it’s “Rock Hammer,” “Paper Tiger,” or “Scissor Klaus” – history is written here.
And when Big Mike steps into the ring, everyone knows: now it’s serious.
Muccarones & auctions
Alongside the tournament, Muccarones – the official in-game currency – add extra excitement. Bets, auctions, and tactical moves turn the night into a mix of World Cup final, Carnival, and local Veedel culture.
