Robin is originally from the Westerwald and has been part of the Kölsch Crew since August 2024. He leads tours in German and English. He has long been interested in Cologne’s history and beer house culture, and on the tours he combines this passion with his joy of meeting new people – always over a good Kölsch, of course.

I’ve been with the Kölsch Crew since August 2024.

What Types of Tours Do You Lead?

I do both German and English tours – actually all except the tours in the Südstadt.

How Did You get into Doing Beer House Tours in Cologne?

Since I’m very interested in Cologne’s history and (beer house) culture, I love meeting new people and introducing them to both – and drinking the best beer in the world – I decided to join the Kölsch Crew. I’ve also been friends with Micha for years, which made the choice of company very easy.

Why Do You Enjoy Guiding People through Cologne’s Beer Houses so much?

I just really like the atmosphere of our beer houses, because you can spend nice moments there and they reflect a unique culture. I really enjoy sharing that with others.

Which Anecdote or Story Do You Particularly like to Tell?

It’s hard to settle on one story, but Bill Clinton’s visit to the Malzmühle is definitely one of my favorites.

What Makes Cologne Special for You?

For me, the most special thing about Cologne is the people and the Rhenish, warm and cheerful nature.

What Absolutely Must You See in Cologne (besides the Cathedral)?

You absolutely have to see and experience the carnival season – and at least one game of the FC.
