Where are You from?
Originally from Hamburg, in Cologne since 2019.
How Did You get into Doing Beer House Tours in Cologne?
I started with Segway tours and eventually met Michael through friends. Talking about Kölsch and Cologne only rarely feels like work. It’s also a great opportunity to try out new jokes.
Why Do You Enjoy Guiding People through Cologne’s Beer Houses so much?
Kölsch verbindet (Kölsch connects) isn’t just a marketing slogan, but in my opinion, a truly lived culture. From interior design to food, there’s always something new. Telling history and stories with a boisterous humor is incredibly appealing to me. You get enough dry and “canned” tours in Cologne. Besides, after a few Kölsch, people really dare to ask questions that really interest them. And more and more often, you stay with the group after the tour and chat about everything under the sun.
Which Anecdote or Story Do You Particularly like to Tell?
Why Köbesse (traditional Cologne waiters) don’t run.
What Makes Cologne Special for You?
Die Lück – High German: die Leute (let’s face it, apart from the churches and crane houses, aesthetic architecture is in short supply in Cologne).
What Absolutely Must You See in Cologne (besides the Cathedral)?
The Cologne mirror.
Fun Fact about You
I’m a showman and love laughter.
